Embiid and Jokic, firm candidates to be the best center in history?
Many experts warn of the possibility that both the Cameroonian and the Serbian could vie to be the best center of all time.
The traditional center figure has been losing weight in recent times, but there are two men who continue to dominate from the position of 5, like Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic. Both are making merits to be enshrined in golden letters in the historical annals of this sport, and many NBA analysts see them as candidates to be the greatest center of all time.
If basketball is known for something, it is for its constant evolution. Faster, more powerful, more demanding in every way, with more short possessions. All this has reduced the impact of the traditional center from past decades, forcing players to be much more complete. Nevertheless, two historical geniuses coexist, such as Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic, capable of dominating the game from the center position and aiming to dethrone other great historical centers from the gods' Olympus.
The Cameroonian with incredible offensive talent and unbelievable leg agility, while the Serbian with his unseen tactical intelligence and astonishing game management ease, stand out as main figures in today's NBA. They have enough arguments to consider surpassing the sports careers of men like Shaquille O'Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon, or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who even today seem slightly above.
