The 2 centers that interest the Lakers in the market
The Los Angeles franchise continues to search for that 'five' to complete a lineup that currently depends almost entirely on the performance of Anthony Davis.
Although they have started the 2024/25 season very well, Los Angeles Lakers are aware that they rely heavily on Anthony Davis's level. 'The Brow' is playing at an MVP level, but if he has a bad game, practically everything falls apart.
For this reason, the Lakers are actively looking for a high-level backup center in the market. According to NBA Rumors reported by Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, their interest in Jonas Valanciunas for several weeks has now been joined by Robert Williams III.
However, Portland likes how Williams fits into their young roster, and his contract is very respectful of the salary cap. The Blazers are more inclined to move Deandre Ayton if interest arises.
The Los Angeles Lakers have lost their last 2 games played. Currently, JJ Redick's team has a record of 10-6, but remains 4th in the Western Conference.
