Big news! The Knicks dismiss Tom Thibodeau
Shams Charania has confirmed news that no one was expecting after New York's great year.
This Tuesday, June 3, Shams Charania announced one of the 'bombs' that Adrian Wojnarowski used to surprise NBA fans with: Tom Thibodeau has been fired by the New York Knicks.
After one of the franchise's best years in decades, the Knicks have decided to dismiss their coach: "The New York Knicks fire Tom Thibodeau as head coach, according to ESPN sources," Charania confirmed.
Thibodeau had just led the Knicks to the Eastern Conference Finals, something the team hadn't done in 25 years. Additionally, he achieved this after eliminating the favorites and defending champions, the Boston Celtics, in the semifinals with a 4-2 score.
As if that weren't enough, under Tom Thibodeau, a Knicks team that had been mired in mediocrity for years made the playoffs in 4 of the last 5 years and achieved two consecutive seasons with over 50 wins for the first time since the 1990s.
