NBA Rumors: The incredible team where Andrew Wiggins could end up!
We will see what happens with a player who went to the Miami Heat as part of the trade to the Warriors for Jimmy Butler.
NBA Rumors: Andrew Wiggins could be on the move, and one of the teams interested in his services is Milwaukee Bucks. According to journalist Brett Siegel from Clutch Points, cited by heavy.com, the Miami Heat has received multiple inquiries about the Canadian forward, former number one draft pick, and NBA champion, including from the Wisconsin team that aims to contend for the title again.
During this offseason, the Heat were open to exploring trade scenarios for Wiggins, attracting interest from various teams. Among them, the Bucks inquired about the availability of the forward, recognizing the need to strengthen their roster to convince Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay with the franchise and not seek a trade. Their summer has been marked by the decision to extend and waive Damian Lillard—to whom they will pay 22.5 million dollars annually over the next five years—, the departure of Brook Lopez in free agency, and the significant signing of center Myles Turner.
Wiggins' arrival would add another championship player to a core that only retains Giannis and Bobby Portis from the 2021 title-winning squad. However, Miami has set a high price. According to Siegel, Pat Riley would only consider parting ways with his 3-and-D forward if they receive in return an immediate impact player and a first-round draft pick before 2028.
For now, Wiggins will remain in South Beach, but negotiations could restart as the trade deadline approaches in February, or even earlier if circumstances allow. It is clear that finding a trade may not be easy, but he showed in 2020 that in a supporting role, he can still be a player capable of helping a good team win a championship.
