A card signed by Kobe and Jordan breaks historical sales price records

The world of trading cards is truly a madness in the sports world in the United States, and the NBA holds some of the most astronomical figures. Starting from this Saturday, a card signed by Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan is already part of the golden history of transactions in this regard, having been sold at auction for $12.9 million.

The figure is so staggering that it is worth contemplating several times the implications of having paid that much for a simple piece of paper card with the images of both legends and each of their signatures. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan maintained a good relationship and even faced each other on the court, showing great admiration for each other. As a result, this collaboration emerged and has now been made public after Heritage Auctions sold it for that amount.

The buyer remains unknown, but it would not be surprising if they waited for some time and sought to resell it, especially if there are factors that could further increase its value. What is clear is that this is the most expensive NBA card in history, surpassing one from 1952 that was sold for $12.6 million. Ahead of it is only the baseball card from the 1932 World Series, sold for $24.12 million in 2024.
