AI Could Enter the NBA Through Arbitration

Adam Silver announced that the NBA is considering incorporating artificial intelligence to make automatic decisions in objective plays, such as out-of-bounds or line actions, through a camera system similar to tennis' "Hawk-Eye." The commissioner stated that this technology would help expedite the game and allow referees to focus on more subjective decisions related to contacts and fouls, although there is currently no set date for its implementation.
