The era of Giannis Antetokounmpo at Miami Heat has officially begun. After becoming the center of attention over the summer with his trade from Milwaukee Bucks, the two-time NBA MVP was introduced this Thursday at the Kaseya Center and made it clear that he has only one goal in mind: to win another championship.

Surrounded by the history of one of the most successful franchises in recent decades, Antetokounmpo stated that Miami's winning culture has further boosted his motivation.

"Right now, he's one hundred percent in," the player declared during his presentation.

The Greek player admitted that walking through the corridors of the arena and seeing portraits of legends like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Shaquille O'Neal, or Alonzo Mourning made him realize the magnitude of the challenge ahead.

"You walk through the hallways and see the history, you see the players who have been part of this organization and everything they have achieved. I want every decision they have made to be worthwhile."

Pressure, a Motivation for Giannis

Far from feeling intimidated by the expectations, Antetokounmpo explained that pressure has always been one of the driving forces in his career.

The 2021 NBA champion believes that Miami has all the conditions to compete for the title again and stated that he is looking forward to starting work under Erik Spoelstra's guidance.

"It's a place where I feel there's pressure, and I perform well under pressure. It brings out the best in me."
