Anamaria Goltes withdraws maintenance lawsuit against Luka Doncic and seeks a friendly agreement

The legal dispute between Luka Doncic and his former partner and ex-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, has taken a significant turn. As reported by ESPN, Goltes has withdrawn the petition she had filed in March before the Superior Court of Los Angeles, in which she sought child support for their daughters and payment of her attorneys' fees.

The court hearing was scheduled for August 14, although the withdrawal of the lawsuit completely changes the scenario. In the document filed with the court, and initially obtained by TMZ, Goltes explained the reasons for her decision.

"I withdraw my child support request with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and through a mutual agreement that is best for our children," she stated.

Goltes is the mother of the two daughters of the Los Angeles Lakers player, Gabriela, two years old, and Olivia, seven months old. Although she resides with both girls in Slovenia, she decided to file the lawsuit in California earlier this year.

Custody battle continues in Slovenia

Despite the withdrawal of this lawsuit in the United States, the legal conflict between both parties is not yet over. According to sources consulted by ESPN, the process related to shared custody and child support is still ongoing in Slovenian courts.

Doncic himself filed a request for interim measures in Slovenia last February to obtain immediate contact with his daughters and move towards a joint custody agreement.

The same sources state that the procedure is continuing under the jurisdiction of courts in his country.

Doncic prioritized his daughters this summer

Following the elimination of the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA playoffs against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Doncic announced that he was foregoing playing in the World Cup qualifiers with the Slovenian national team to stay with his daughters.

"I love my daughters more than anything in the world, and they will always come first in my life," wrote the Slovenian point guard on his social media at that time.

In order to extend his stay in Slovenia before the start of the next NBA season, Doncic will also organize a minicamp for the entire Lakers' roster in Ljubljana, between August 20 and 24, an initiative that will serve both to strengthen the team's bond and to allow him to remain close to his family before returning to the United States.
