The NBA is investigating LeBron James' helicopter trips between Philadelphia and New York
Rumors are arising about commercial agreements of LeBron James that could be covering the costs of these constant trips.
LeBron James is once again in the spotlight of the NBA due to a non-sporting matter. According to Pablo Torre, several franchise owners have contacted him to inquire about the use that the star might be making of a Fanatics helicopter to travel between Philadelphia and New York while playing with the 76ers. The journalist claims he is investigating the issue.
The controversy revolves around the business agreement that LeBron signed with Fanatics in 2024, when he was still playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. That contract allows him to use the company's aviation services for free, a benefit that has now caught the interest of some league owners.
According to information released by Front Office Sports, Torre is "investigating" the relationship between these travels and the player's business agreement. So far, there have been no definitive conclusions made public, nor has it been confirmed that the NBA has opened an official investigation.
The case raises questions about the extent of commercial agreements of major stars and how these private benefits can fit within the competition's rules. However, any potential conflict will depend on the specifics of the contract and the particular circumstances of the travels.
For now, there is no confirmed evidence that LeBron has violated NBA rules. The information available suggests that several owners have requested clarifications and that Pablo Torre is trying to clarify the facts.
