Jassel Pérez shines with 40 points and breaks records in Girona

Jassel Pérez has delivered one of the best individual performances of the season in the Liga Endesa. The Dominican forward from FIATC Girona showcased high-level basketball in the match against Leyma Coruña, where his team won clearly by 107 to 90 in round 4 of the national competition. The numbers he put up on the court are spectacular: 40 points, 9 three-pointers, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals.

A night of unprecedented offensive precision

The most remarkable aspect of Pérez's performance was his shooting accuracy, a feature that has characterized his play since the beginning of the 26/27 season. The Dominican player completed 12 of 15 field goals, broken down into 3 of 3 in two-point shots, 9 of 13 in three-pointers, and a perfect 7 of 7 in free throws. This offensive consistency from all distances highlighted the strength of his game and his ability to punish the opposing defense at any moment in the match.

The numbers achieved represent personal milestones in his career within the Liga Endesa. The 40 points, 9 three-pointers, 4 steals, and a valuation of 42 points all constitute personal records for Pérez in matches played to date in the competition. This accumulation of personal bests underscores the magnitude of his performance and positions him as one of the main candidates for the MVP award of the round.

Upward trajectory so far this season

Pérez arrived at the match against Coruña establishing himself as one of the most consistent players at the start of the season in the Liga Endesa. However, this performance represents a qualitative leap compared to his previous outputs. In the first four games of the season, the forward is averaging 23.2 points per game, a figure that significantly surpasses the 20.6 points he averaged last season with Covirán Granada.

The increase in his offensive production is accompanied by a notable improvement in his efficiency from the perimeter. Pérez is making 3.5 three-pointers per game with a shooting percentage of 61%, a rate that reflects both his confidence and the quality of his shots. His average performance rating in these four matches reaches 26.2 points, emphasizing that his contribution to the team goes beyond mere scoring.

FIATC Girona secures its second victory

The victory against Leyma Coruña represents the second win for FIATC Girona this season. The final score of 107 to 90 reflects a clear dominance by the Catalans, who capitalized on Pérez's offensive brilliance to control the game from start to finish. The 17-point difference underscores the solidity shown by the team, although the individual performance of the Dominican forward was the determining factor in the game's outcome.

Pérez's performance in this round 4 of the Liga Endesa has generated expectations about his ability to maintain this level of play. His capacity to maintain shooting consistency, combined with his defensive involvement reflected in the 4 steals, suggests that the player has found a competitive rhythm that allows him to express his full potential.

Future prospects in the competition

Pérez's display comes at a time when the Liga Endesa is solidifying its 26/27 season. The Dominican forward has demonstrated that he possesses the necessary tools to be a key factor in FIATC Girona's goals. His improvement over the previous season with Covirán Granada, both in scoring volume and efficiency, indicates a clear progression in his development as a player.

The combination of scoring, rebounds, assists, and steals that he exhibited against Coruña represents the kind of balanced performance that coaches seek in their forwards. Although scoring was the standout aspect, Pérez's defensive presence with 4 steals highlights his defensive commitment and versatility within the team's tactical system.

The upcoming matches will be crucial in confirming whether this performance marks a new standard in Pérez's output or if it was an exceptional night. However, the numbers accumulated in the early stages of the season suggest that the player is in a phase of peak performance, which would provide FIATC Girona with a powerful offensive asset to compete in the Liga Endesa.
