La NBA da el último adiós a Muhammad Ali
Desde leyendas retiradas de la liga hasta los novatos, pasando por las estrellas actuales, quisieron rendir homenaje a uno de los deportistas más grandes de siempre.
La triste noticia del fallecimiento de Muhammad Ali esta madrugada ha calado hondo en el entorno de la NBA, donde la leyenda del boxeo -y el deporte en general- era una de las figuras más admiradas de fuera del baloncesto.
El que fuera considerado como el mejor boxeador de toda la historia falleció este sábado a los 74 años de edad por complicaciones respiratorias, después de haber sido ingresado en un hospital de Phoenix esta misma semana.
Leyendas retiradas de la liga, jugadores consagrados y hasta novatos han querido dar el último adiós al que consideran uno de los más grandes deportistas de toda la historia. Chris Paul, Vince Carter, Reggie Miller, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Anthony Towns o Scottie Pippen son algunos de los ejemplos más ilustres.
El comisionado de la NBA, Adam Silver, también ha querido recordar a Ali como uno de los atletas referencia del siglo XX por sus luchas dentro y fuera de los rings, reconociendo su labor social y su implicación a favor de los derechos sociales y humanos, "trascendiendo mucho más allá del deporte".
