Donovan Mitchell no ha dudado en elogiar y colocarse del lado de su compañero Evan Mobley para el trofeo de Defensive Player Of the Year de la temporada 2022/23 en la NBA: "Debería ser el Jugador Defensivo del Año. He jugado con un tres veces Jugador Defensivo del Año (Rudy Gobert), así que sé lo que es y lo estoy viendo con él, seguro."
