The talented forward will have a very special role in the new stage of the Lakers, under the leadership of a Redick who considers him a reference.
He is a special player and has the necessary skills to keep progressing. Austin Reaves will take on a much larger role with the Los Angeles Lakers this upcoming season, as JJ Redick has devised a playing system that grants him great responsibility as a playmaker and positions him as one of the offensive leaders on the team.
New ideas, fresh air, and personal commitments. That is what JJ Redick will bring in this new stage as coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Little is known yet about his plans, but what has already been leaked is his strong interest in giving Austin Reaves a much more prominent role within the team. The charismatic forward possesses all the necessary qualities to rise several levels in his standing as an NBA player, provided he is given more opportunities and offensive responsibility. That's what the rookie coach intends to do.
The goal is to relieve Lebron James of some ball-handling duties, conserving efforts and promoting him to deliver key passes and take the lead in crucial moments. However, Russell and Austin Reaves will take turns as main offensive options, with the forward having the ball in his hands much more than in previous seasons. The Los Angeles Lakers will need him to respond perfectly if they want to have hopes of competing for glory.
