NBA Rumors: The Incredible Possible Destination of Kawhi Leonard

The NBA rumors about Kawhi Leonard don't stop. The superstar of the LA Clippers has been involved in trade talks several times this season, partly because the Angelenos moved key pieces by sending James Harden and Ivica Zubac to other teams, and partly because his future in Los Angeles remains uncertain.

The NBA is in the process of determining what kind of sanction to apply for the infamous case of alleged salary cap evasion. There is talk of a possible cancellation of Leonard's contract being on the table, which would make him a free agent.

However, if he still remains under contract with the Clippers, there is a proposed trade that deserves consideration, one that would send him back to the Eastern Conference to join the Detroit Pistons, the team with the best record of the season. The proposal comes from Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report.

This would be the trade

Pistons receive:

• Kawhi Leonard

Clippers receive:

• Duncan Robinson

• Isaiah Stewart

• Ron Holland

• 2027 First Round Pick

• 2031 First Round Pick Swap

With Kawhi on board, the Pistons would immediately become favorites to lead the East next season and even contend for the championship. We all remember what happened the last time Leonard was traded to an Eastern contender, in the 2018-19 season when he led the Toronto Raptors to the title with an epic playoff performance.

Teaming up with Cade Cunningham and a group of young talents like Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson, alongside veterans like Tobias Harris, the Pistons could become a tough team to beat.
