Lakers: Luka Doncic eats Pacers in Haliburton's "return"

Los Angeles Lakers continue to experience one of their best moments of the season after defeating the Indiana Pacers 137-130 in Indianapolis, a game led by a phenomenal Luka Doncic.

The Slovenian guard once again stood out with 43 points, confirming his exceptional scoring streak. Doncic made 15 of his 30 field goal attempts and was nearly perfect from the free-throw line (9 of 10), being the absolute centerpiece of the Lakers' offense.

Alongside him, Austin Reaves contributed 25 points, while LeBron James added 23. Jaxson Hayes also shined, recording a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds to complete a very solid performance for the visiting team.

The victory allows the Lakers to solidify their great momentum, with 10 wins in their last 11 games. Additionally, Doncic has surpassed the 30-point mark in all of those games. The Los Angeles team, third in the Western Conference, only recently fell to Detroit, ending a streak of nine consecutive wins.

The game was well in control from the start. The Lakers scored the first ten points of the match and never trailed at any point. They enjoyed a 29-point lead in the third quarter, seemingly sealing the win.

However, Indiana mounted a late comeback. The Pacers reduced the deficit to 131-124 with 45 seconds remaining, but LeBron James responded from the free-throw line to maintain control. A three-pointer by Jarace Walker made it 133-127 with 28 seconds left to play, although the hosts couldn't come any closer.

For the Pacers, Pascal Siakam led the scoring with 20 points, followed by Jay Huff with 18. Off the bench, T.J. McConnell contributed 17 points, while Andrew Nembhard delivered a notable performance with 14 points and 19 assists, a career-best mark.

The game also featured some interesting moments, such as WNBA star Caitlin Clark acting as an accredited photographer courtside.

The Lakers faced the match with several key absences. Deandre Ayton was sidelined due to back spasms, while Rui Hachimura and Marcus Smart missed their second consecutive game. Smart, however, appeared on the scoresheet after receiving a technical foul from the bench in the second quarter.

"Haliburton's Return"

In Indiana, Tyrese Haliburton returned to the bench for the first time in a month after being diagnosed with shingles, but he remains out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon in the seventh game of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the next round, the Lakers will host the Brooklyn Nets, while the Pacers will face the Los Angeles Clippers at home.
