NBA Rumors: A historic coach could sign with the Blazers

Jeff Van Gundy, historic former coach of the New York Knicks and current assistant at the Los Angeles Clippers, has become one of the top candidates to take over the helm of the Portland Trail Blazers, who have already requested permission to interview him. The 64-year-old coach, who led the Knicks to the NBA Finals in 1999 and amassed a record of 430 wins and 318 losses between the Knicks and Rockets, recently returned to coaching after years of success as a TV commentator following his departure from Houston in 2007.
