Rivero extends his stay in Valencia until the end of the season

Jasiel Rivero has managed to solidify his stay at Valencia Basket by extending his contractual agreement until the end of the current season. The situation of the Cuban forward, whose initial contract was set to expire soon, has been definitively resolved by the orange entity, which trusts in his contribution for the upcoming months.

The return of the Cuban to the orange project

Rivero was not a stranger to the ranks of Valencia Basket. The Cuban pivot had already played two previous seasons as an orange player, which facilitated his reintegration into the team. His arrival this time responded to specific needs of the Valencia squad, which needed to strengthen its roster during the preseason due to international commitments of other players and injuries that hampered their effectiveness.

Initially, Rivero joined the preseason training with the aim of providing rotation and continuity to the team's physical work. However, after demonstrating his fitness and competitive ability, the sports management decided to formalize his month-long contract to face the official start of the season. This decision came shortly after his initial incorporation.

Performance in the first official commitments

Although Rivero was not called up for the Supercopa Endesa due to some discomfort he was experiencing, he did participate in the three subsequent official games. His presence was felt in two Euroleague games and the opening day of the Liga Endesa, where he contributed significant numbers.

In those three contested games, the Cuban pivot recorded an average of 8.7 points per game, along with 4 rebounds and 0.3 assists in an average playing time of 16:06 minutes. His offensive percentages were particularly noteworthy: 41.2% in two-point shots, 66.7% from three-point range, and a perfect 100% from the free-throw line. These figures demonstrate the player's effectiveness in his first appearances with the orange uniform this season.

Consolidation in Valencia's project

Rivero's contract extension reflects the trust placed in him by the coaching staff and the management of Valencia Basket. His previous experience at the club, combined with his good performance in the initial games, justifies the decision to keep him on the roster until the end of the season, providing stability and continuity to the project.

Such decisions are common in professional competitions, where teams must adapt to circumstances and needs that arise during the course of the season. In the case of Valencia Basket, Rivero's presence offers a quality alternative in the interior position, allowing the coach more flexibility in his rotations and tactical strategies.

Future prospects for the Cuban interior

With his contract extended, Rivero will have the opportunity to continue proving his worth in the competitions in which Valencia Basket participates. Both in the Liga Endesa and in the Euroleague, the Cuban pivot will be able to accumulate minutes and experience, contributing to the performance of the orange team in the objectives set for this season.

Rivero's consolidation in the roster represents a practical and effective solution for the needs of the Valencia team, avoiding the uncertainty that would have arisen from leaving his situation unresolved. With this extension, Valencia Basket ensures the continuity of a player who has shown adaptability and performance in his first official appearances of the current season.
