Amar´e Stoudemire pone fin a su carrera

I am extremely proud that not only did we meet that goal, but that this achievement, capped arguably the best season this team has ever had. Reaching all three local finals, of which we won two, along with a eurocup semifinals appearance, personally winning the All Star Game MVP Award -- and coming to within one game of the finals, made it a truly remarkable season. De manera sorprendente, e incluso de manera discreta, sin hacer mucho ruido. Así ha anunciado a través de Instagram Amar´e Stoudemire su retirada como jugador a sus 34 años, y una año después de haber puesto punto y final a su etapa en la NBA. El pívot se ha ido dando las gracias a su último equipo, el Hapoel Jerusalem.

"El pasado verano decidí retirarme de la NBA para unirme al Hapoel y ayudarle. Y he ayudado a esta ciudad santa a ganar mi primer campeonato y el segunda de su historia. Por eso estoy muy orgulloso, no solo por haber conseguido ese objetivo, si no porque posiblemente ésta sea coronada como la mejor temporada de la historia. Hemos llegado a tres finales locales, de las que hemos ganado dos, y además llegamos hasta semifinales de la Eurocup, ganando el MVP individual del All Star. Todo eso hacen de esta temporada algo inolvidable", ha escrito Amar´e Stoudemire en su publicación.
