The Lakers reveal the type of player they will sign in Free Agency
Rob Pelinka, GM of the Los Angeles franchise, knows that the team needs "height" for the upcoming season
The season of the Los Angeles Lakers ended disappointingly in the 1st round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. The team led by Luka Doncic and LeBron James was eliminated 4-1 by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The postseason highlighted all the shortcomings of a roster that needs changes.
The Lakers are aware that they need to make signings in the 2025 Free Agency, and not just a few. The initial statements from Rob Pelinka, the GM of the Los Angeles franchise, were eagerly awaited. He made it clear the type of player they need to sign.
"I think when you make a big trade at the deadline where you swap your starting center for a point guard, it's bound to create issues. We know that this offseason one of our main goals will be to add size in the center position," said Pelinka.
"The trade deadline and the moments leading up to it do not allow you the necessary time to explore every possible option to add a big man to our roster. We didn't have the time after the Luka trade. But now we do," added the Lakers' GM.
