Mark Cuban's Rant about Doncic Trade: "They Won, I Lost"
The former owner and top boss of the Dallas Mavericks for years confesses how they managed to isolate him in order to trade Doncic.
Very powerful subliminal messages have recently been sent by Mark Cuban when asked about his role in the transfer of Luka Doncic. It is well known by all that he stopped being the majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks years ago, selling a significant portion of his shares. Although he still holds some, his influence in decision-making seems non-existent.
The personal relationship between Mark Cuban and Luka Doncic has always been very smooth, with one of the wealthiest billionaires in the United States having heavily supported the Slovenian. The loss of his influence due to the share sale has been pointed out by Cuban himself as a key element in understanding the transfer of the Slovenian. "After reaching the Finals, I decided it was time to step back a bit from decision-making. I didn't want to get in the way, but it's clear now that it was a mistake," he says.
"There were internal issues that led the person who wanted to transfer Doncic to also want me out of the loop and without any power to have a say." Automatically, people started wondering if this was an attack on Nico Harrison, although at other times, Mark Cuban has defended the General Manager's management. Therefore, others believe it is a frontal attack on the team's boss, Patrick Dumont, who is the son-in-law of Miriam Adelson, the main shareholder of the Dallas Mavericks.
