Sergio de Larrea, after shining in the Summer League: "I feel comfortable playing as a point guard"

Sergio de Larrea signed his best performance since joining the Dallas Mavericks. The Spanish point guard was named MVP in the 96-88 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in the Las Vegas Summer League.

The former Valencia Basket player finished the game with 16 points, 12 assists, one rebound, and one block in 28 minutes. He also showcased several high-quality plays confirming his excellent court vision.

"I feel comfortable playing as a point guard," De Larrea stated after the match. Regarding the opponent's intensity, he jokingly admitted, "I'm very tired. I was used to this type of defense."

His coach, Joe Boylan, spared no compliments. "Sergio has incredible game intuition. He is a great student of the game and left everything on the court until he was exhausted," he affirmed.

The game also featured Spanish prominence thanks to Jorge Díaz Graham, who started for Dallas and achieved a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Canary Islander also praised his teammate, saying, "He never rushes. He always makes the right decisions, and it's a pleasure to play with him."
